The striker initially joined The New Saints in July 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the most effective forwards in Welsh football. His impact was immediate and significant.
During his first spell at the club, Young scored 32 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions. His performances helped The New Saints secure a domestic treble while he also claimed the league’s Golden Boot award.
That outstanding campaign attracted overseas interest and ultimately led to a move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Orabah. The transfer marked the next step in his developing career.
Following his time in Saudi Arabia, Young also played for Baniyas in the United Arab Emirates. Those experiences provided valuable exposure to different footballing environments and competitive leagues.
In January, the forward returned to Wales by joining Caernarfon Town. He became part of a successful squad that lifted the JD Welsh Cup in April. Adding another trophy to his growing collection.
Despite his travels, Young remained connected to The New Saints and closely followed the club’s progress. The opportunity to return ultimately proved too appealing to ignore.
His signing represents a major boost for a team that continues to dominate domestic football while seeking further success in European competition.
Young Eager for New Chapter as Saints Prepare for Europe
Speaking after completing his return. Young expressed his excitement about rejoining a club where he previously enjoyed some of the best moments of his career.
“I never stopped following The New Saints after I left, and if I’m being honest. A part of me always hoped I’d get the chance to come back,” Young told the club’s official website.
The striker spoke warmly about his previous experiences with the Saints and highlighted the connection he developed with supporters during his first spell.
“This club gave me some of the best moments of my career and I’m hungry to create more,” he said.
Young also praised the support he received from the fans and emphasized his determination to reward that loyalty with strong performances on the pitch.
“The fans have always been incredible with me and I can’t wait to get back out there and repay that support,” he added.
The forward described his return as an opportunity to begin a fresh chapter while maintaining the ambition that helped him succeed previously.
“It’s a fresh start for me and I’m even more hungry than I’ve been to succeed,” Young said.
The club’s leadership welcomed the signing enthusiastically. Chairman Mike Harris described the transfer as a significant statement of intent ahead of the new campaign.
Head coach Craig Harrison also underlined the value Young can bring to the squad. Citing both his footballing ability and his influence within the group. “We know exactly what Brad brings,” Harrison said.
“His ability, his character, and the contribution he made in the season we reached the Conference League isn’t something you forget.”
The New Saints are once again preparing for European competition after another successful domestic season. The club has been seeded for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League and will learn its opponents next month.
