sevendayweekender – Paris Saint-Germain produced an emphatic performance in Europe as Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick during a convincing victory over Slovan. Ousmane Dembele also played a starring role. Scoring twice in the first half before setting up Torres for his opening goal.
Torres, a Spanish World Cup winner who joined PSG from Barcelona during the summer. Made an immediate impact on his European debut for the French club. Dembele had already put PSG in control with two goals inside six minutes before Torres began his scoring spree.
Dembele Gives PSG Early Control
Ballon d’Or winner Dembele opened the scoring after 17 minutes. Nuno Mendes’ powerful effort struck the post, but Dembele reacted quickly to fire home the rebound. The early goal immediately gave PSG greater control of the match and forced Slovan to defend deeper as the hosts increased their attacking pressure.
Just six minutes later, PSG doubled their advantage. Slovan attempted to play out from the back, but Dembele capitalised on the mistake and headed in from a deflected cross by Dro Fernandez. The second goal further exposed Slovan’s defensive struggles and gave PSG even more confidence going forward.
Slovan, managed by former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, struggled to contain PSG’s attacking pressure. Dembele soon turned provider. Delivering a dangerous cross into the six-yard box that allowed Torres to tap the ball home at the near post. PSG continued to create opportunities as their movement and passing repeatedly stretched the visitors’ defensive shape.
Torres Completes Hat-Trick After Half-Time
Torres doubled his tally only two minutes into the second half. The forward made a clever run before receiving a lay-off from Maghnes Akliouche and producing a superb finish.
He completed his hat-trick later in the match when he converted Dembele’s corner from inside a crowded penalty area, capping an impressive European debut.
Slovan managed to pull one goal back through Suleiman Camara. Who moved into the six-yard box before shifting onto his right foot and firing a powerful effort into the top corner.

PSG restored their four-goal advantage late in the match when Fabian Ruiz drilled a shot into the far corner.
The result provides PSG with a much-needed boost after a difficult start to their Ligue 1 campaign. The French champions have yet to win in the league this season. Recording two draws and one defeat, and currently sit 13th in the standings.
Their commanding European display, however, gives PSG plenty of encouragement as they continue their bid for a third consecutive Champions League title.
