sevendayweekender – Tottenham Hotspur Women have completed the signing of Netherlands international Victoria Pelova following the expiration of her contract with Women’s Super League rivals Arsenal.
The 27-year-old midfielder joins Tottenham Hotspur Women on a free transfer after spending the last three seasons with the Gunners. Becoming another experienced addition to Tottenham’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
Pelova arrives with an impressive record at both club and international level. Bringing experience from domestic competitions and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Her move also sees her switch across North London after helping Arsenal enjoy one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.
Pelova Leaves Arsenal After Trophy-Laden Spell
During her time at Arsenal, Pelova played an important role in the team’s success across multiple competitions.
She was a member of the squad that lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2025. Adding Europe’s biggest club trophy to her collection.
The Dutch international also won two Women’s League Cups and the Women’s Champions Cup while representing the Gunners.
Despite suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last year. Pelova made an impressive recovery and returned to feature regularly.
She went on to make 30 appearances in all competitions during her final season at Arsenal. Demonstrating her resilience and importance to the squad after recovering from the long-term injury.
Experienced Netherlands International Ready for New Challenge
Away from club football, Pelova has established herself as a key player for the Netherlands women’s national team.
The midfielder has earned 71 international caps and has represented her country at each of the last four major international tournaments, providing Tottenham with valuable experience on the biggest stages.
Speaking after completing the move, Pelova said she was immediately convinced by Tottenham’s vision and the conversations she had with the club.
“It feels nice to be here, I had a lovely welcome from everyone. When I had conversations with Martin Ho, he was so good. It felt immediately right to go to Spurs.” She added: “I can’t wait for the season, and I’m so happy to be here.”
Pelova’s arrival strengthens Tottenham’s midfield with a player capable of contributing both creatively and defensively. Her technical quality, experience in major competitions, and winning mentality are expected to play an important role as Spurs prepare for the upcoming Women’s Super League season.
