sevendayweekender – Norwich City have completed the signing of winger Andre Brooks from Championship rivals Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee. The Jamaica international has signed a five-year contract, becoming the Canaries’ second addition of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old arrives at Carrow Road as manager Philippe Clement continues strengthening his squad ahead of the new Championship campaign.
Brooks follows Brazilian defender Bruno Alves, who joined Norwich on loan last week. As the club looks to build on the progress made during the second half of last season.
The winger leaves Sheffield United after spending almost his entire footballing career with the Blades. He joined the club’s academy at the age of eight before progressing through the youth ranks into the senior team.
During his time with Sheffield United, Brooks made 96 appearances in all competitions and scored nine goals. His performances earned him international recognition with Jamaica and established him as one of the club’s promising attacking players.
The move provides Norwich with another versatile option in wide areas as Clement prepares for the new season.
Brooks Excited by Philippe Clement’s Vision
After completing the transfer, Brooks explained that discussions with Norwich’s coaching staff convinced him that Carrow Road was the right destination for the next stage of his career.
“Speaking to the gaffer and all of the staff, their ambitions and goals for the season really appealed to me,” Brooks told the club’s official website. The winger also outlined the role he expects to play under Clement.
“As a winger, I think the head coach will want me to play on both sides. Attack and defend, and I feel like I’m the perfect man for that. I’m just going to try to help him and the team as much as I can.”
His ability to operate on either flank should provide Norwich with greater tactical flexibility throughout the campaign.
At just 22 years old, Brooks also offers significant long-term potential alongside his Championship experience.
Norwich Continue Squad Rebuild for New Season
Norwich finished ninth in the Championship last season, ending the campaign eight points outside the play-off places.
The final league position represented a remarkable turnaround after the Canaries found themselves third from bottom at the beginning of 2026.
Under Philippe Clement, the club recovered strongly during the second half of the season and narrowly missed out on the promotion race.
The arrivals of Bruno Alves and Andre Brooks demonstrate Norwich’s ambition to build a squad capable of challenging higher up the table next season.
With his pace, versatility, and Championship experience, Brooks is expected to strengthen Norwich’s attacking options as the club targets a return to the Premier League.
Having signed a long-term five-year contract, the Jamaican international now begins a new chapter at Carrow Road, where both player and club will hope the partnership delivers success in the seasons ahead.
