sevendayweekender – Swansea City winger Zeidane Inoussa has joined Polish top-flight club Gornik Zabrze on loan for the remainder of the season. The move comes after the 24-year-old was omitted from Swansea’s English Football League squad list.
Inoussa had been searching for a temporary move after being left outside the club’s Championship squad. He came close to joining Portsmouth on English football’s transfer deadline day earlier this month.
The winger was also linked with a loan move to Croatian club Osijek earlier this week. However, he will instead continue his season in Poland with Gornik Zabrze.
Inoussa remains under contract with Swansea until 2030, giving the Championship club long-term control over his future. Swansea have also retained an option to recall him from his loan spell in January.
Swansea head coach Vitor Matos believes regular football can help Inoussa regain consistency and make an impact in Poland. “We hope he makes an impact [at Gornik Zabrze],” Matos said.
“He’s a wonderful kid, a really good professional. He just needs game-time and consistency in playing,” the Swansea head coach added. Matos also believes the move should give Inoussa the playing opportunities he needs.
“I think that’s what he wants as well so it’s a good option in terms of finding that,” Matos said. “We are here for him and hopefully everything goes right.”
Inoussa Looks to Revive Swansea Career in Poland
Swansea paid a significant fee to sign Inoussa from Swedish club BK Hacken during the summer of 2025. The former Sweden Under-21 international arrived with expectations of making an impact in the Championship.
However, his first season with Swansea produced limited returns. Inoussa scored just once in 29 appearances for the Welsh club last season.
His campaign was also disrupted by a stress fracture in his back. The injury prevented him from making any further appearances after January.
The extended absence limited Inoussa’s opportunities to establish himself within Swansea’s attacking setup. His latest loan move should now provide an opportunity to rebuild his fitness and regain regular competitive football.
Gornik Zabrze’s involvement in Poland’s top division gives Inoussa a different environment for the remainder of the campaign. Regular appearances could help the winger rediscover the consistency that Swansea’s coaching staff believe he needs.
The move also provides Swansea with an opportunity to monitor his progress while he remains contracted to the club until 2030. The January recall option gives the Championship side additional flexibility during the season.
