The experienced defender joins the Women’s Super League 2 club after spending two seasons with Brighton. Bringing top-flight experience and a proven record of success in Scottish football.

Newcastle United Sign Scotland Defender Rachel McLauchlan
Newcastle United confirmed the signing of McLauchlan from Women’s Super League side Brighton. Although the clubs did not disclose the transfer fee.
The 29-year-old defender made 51 appearances during her two-year spell with Brighton. Establishing herself as a reliable option in the WSL. She also featured in Brighton’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City earlier this year.
Before moving to England, McLauchlan enjoyed a successful career in Scotland, winning five Scottish Women’s Premier League titles and four Scottish Cups while representing Rangers, Glasgow City, and Hibernian.
Her international experience is equally impressive, having earned 35 senior caps for Scotland during her career.
McLauchlan said she was eager to begin the next chapter of her career at Newcastle and contribute to the club’s promotion ambitions.
“I’m really excited to get started. I’m raring to go, it’s a big opportunity and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone,” she said.
“I want to come here and help the team get promoted. Tanya spoke so highly of what the club wants to do and that was a big motivation for me to come here.”
