The Turkish giants confirmed the transfer after reaching an agreement with the French club for a deal worth 39 million euros. Although they had previously indicated the total package could reach 45 million euros.
The move brings an end to Greenwood’s successful spell in Ligue 1. Where he established himself as one of the league’s leading goalscorers. Fenerbahce will now hope the 24-year-old can strengthen their attack as they target domestic success and a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The English forward enjoyed another productive campaign during the 2025-26 season. Finishing joint-second in the Ligue 1 Golden Boot race with 16 league goals. He shared second place with Rennes striker Esteban Lepaul after consistently delivering in front of goal.
Fenerbahce confirmed Greenwood has signed a four-year contract following the completion of the transfer. While the club officially announced a fee of 39 million euros. Earlier statements suggested the overall package could rise to 45 million euros through additional payments.
“Hello Fenerbahce family, thank you so much for the support you have shown me. I am very happy to be here,” Greenwood said.
Interest in Greenwood had been evident even before Fenerbahce’s presidential election in early June. Both eventual winner Aziz Yildirim and fellow candidate Hakan Safi publicly identified the forward as a transfer target during their campaigns.
Forward Begins New Chapter Following Successful Marseille Spell
Greenwood joined Marseille from Manchester United in July 2024 in a deal worth £26.6 million after spending the previous season on loan at Spanish club Getafe.
During the transfer, Manchester United confirmed they had negotiated a sizeable sell-on clause for the academy graduate.
Greenwood’s departure from Old Trafford followed Manchester United’s internal review after criminal charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped in February 2023. The club ultimately decided he would not return to its first-team squad.
His loan spell with Getafe helped revive his career before Marseille secured his permanent signature. The move to France proved successful as Greenwood quickly became one of the club’s most important attacking players.
Now, he will attempt to replicate that form in Turkey with Fenerbahce. The Istanbul club finished second in the Turkish Super Lig for the fifth consecutive season and is determined to challenge for the league title in the upcoming campaign.
Fenerbahce also face an important European challenge, with a Champions League second qualifying round tie against Poland’s Gornik Zabrze scheduled later this month. Greenwood is expected to play a significant role as the club pursues qualification for Europe’s premier club competition while aiming to end its lengthy wait for a domestic league championship.
