Sesko becomes United’s third major attacking signing this summer. He joins Matheus Cunha, who arrived for £62.5 million, and Bryan Mbeumo, signed for £65 million with an additional £6 million in bonuses. All three players were officially presented to fans before United’s pre-season home fixture against Fiorentina.
Newcastle United also pursued Sesko, but the striker chose to join Ruben Amorim’s side instead. United, who finished 15th in the Premier League last season, are rebuilding under Amorim after a disappointing campaign. In contrast, Newcastle secured fifth place and qualified for the Champions League, also lifting the EFL Cup.
Despite this, Sesko expressed strong enthusiasm for the move. Speaking to club media, he highlighted Manchester United’s future potential as a key reason for his decision. He emphasized the appeal of the club’s vision and the positive environment he felt upon arrival.
Sesko Eyes Trophies and Growth Under Amorim’s Leadership
In his first official statement, Sesko underlined his belief in Manchester United’s long-term project. He noted that the club’s history is special, but the ambition and direction for the future are what truly inspired him. He said the energy around the club and its strong sense of unity convinced him it was the ideal place to reach his full potential. Sesko also looked ahead to working closely with new manager Ruben Amorim and developing chemistry with his teammates. He expressed excitement about contributing to a team that aims to compete for top honours again soon.
Amorim, speaking to MUTV, praised Sesko’s qualities both on and off the pitch. He said Sesko fits the squad’s needs perfectly and brings a strong work ethic. Amorim added that the striker’s drive and personality align well with the culture being built at the club.
United are hoping Sesko can deliver immediate impact as they aim to bounce back from last season’s disappointing finish. With pre-season matches underway, the focus now shifts to integrating the new signings and preparing for a stronger league performance. Sesko’s arrival marks another step in Manchester United’s ongoing rebuild and signals clear intent to return to the top tier of English and European football.
